Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MoveOutGuard (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

MoveOutGuard is a software tool that helps landlords and property managers organize move-out evidence and prepare draft security deposit deduction letters and checklists. The Service is a document preparation aid only. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. See our Disclaimer.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.

3. Your content

  • You retain ownership of the photos, receipts, and documents you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process them solely to provide the Service to you.
  • You represent that you have the right to upload the content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter.

4. AI-generated drafts

  • Drafts, extractions, and suggestions are generated with the assistance of AI models and may contain errors.
  • You must review and approve, edit, or reject every suggested deduction before a final letter is generated. You are solely responsible for any document you use or send.

5. Payments

  • MoveOutGuard sells one $29 one-time unlock for one complete move-out packet: one property and one tenant move-out event.
  • A different packet requires a separate one-time purchase.
  • There is no recurring billing, monthly plan, annual plan, or automatic renewal.
  • Once a packet is unlocked, you may edit, regenerate, and re-download documents for that same packet without another payment.
  • Taxes and payment processing may later be handled by a third-party payment processor; card details are handled by the processor and never stored by us.
  • Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once a letter is generated. This refund language should be reviewed by the founder before paid checkout goes live.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Service to harass tenants or to prepare knowingly false claims.
  • Do not attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the Service.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoveOutGuard is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination you may request deletion of your data.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
